About Outriders

Last night, on its Twitch channel, Square Enix took the time to present its next cross-gen title, Outriders, from its story, to its characters, to its game mechanics. As a bonus, a series of visuals were also shared on their website.

Outriders is a sci-fi shooter-rpg in which it will be possible to play alone, in duo or trio. As the Earth is devastated, the last humans flee to the stars to find a new home. The player will then be able to explore Enoch, a particularly hostile planet, rich in landscapes, between mountains, deserts or forests.

During this press tour, a lot of information was given to us, announcing the game for a late 2020 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but especially PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X! Outriders would therefore be one of the early games of the new generation of consoles, and it is inevitably expected at the turn.

Each class therefore has unique characteristics :

The Devastator is more of a tank type character, for hand-to-hand combat and amassing a lot of damage.

The Trickster is a character close to an assassin class, with a lot of hit & run mechanics, going back and forth between hand-to-hand attacks and hiding.

The Pyromancer is a character playing much more on the principle of a DPS at half distance. Many specific attacks work on the principle of AOE against enemies in order to hit all the opposing waves.

Each character also has a special mechanism that allows him to recover life during confrontations if the players manage to eliminate an enemy in this or that way. You will also find many RPG elements such as different skills that can be activated and unlocked as you go through the levels, but also passive statistics skills according to several aspects such as life or damage via a rather complete technology tree.

Outriders is a game developed by the studio People Can Fly (Gears of War, Bulletstorm) and published by Square Enix.
